Kyle Busch Enters Rescheduled August CRA Race at Toledo

Toledo Speedway officials have announced that NASCAR star Kyle Busch will compete in the CRA Super Series Late Model 100 Friday evening, August 14. The CRA race, originally scheduled for July 31, is being moved to the August 14 date.
Busch, one of the top stars in all 3 of NASCAR'S major circuits, has been a frequent competitor with the CRA Super Series Late Models this season. Busch, already in the area for the Michigan International Speedway (MIS) race weekend, will make his way 60 miles south to Toledo Friday, August 14 after his duties at the wheel of the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing machine are completed at MIS.
Aric Almirola Returns to Howard SLM for Lee PASS North Race

Part-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Aric Almirola will return to the driver's seat of the D.J. Howard-owned Super Late Model for Tuesday's PASS North race at Lee USA Speedway. The race is right in Howard's backyard as his family fielded cars for Dan Bezanson at Lee and nearby All-Star Speedway for many years. Almirola drove for the team in the PASS South Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC) earlier this season and finished third after leading several laps in that event.
Truex, Jr. to Drive #56 in Cup....Here's the Short Track Connection

Long-time fans of Martin Truex - Senior or Junior - as well as followers of what is now known as the NASCAR Camping World East Series will remember that the Truex family number was always #56 and it appeared in victory lane at tracks from Stafford to New Hampshire. Now, as Martin Truex, Jr. joins Michael Waltrip Racing, he'll be running the same number in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Lewandoski Returns to His Late Model Roots at Stafford

Competition Systems Racing, co-owned by Chris DuPont and Peter Thickett, will make its debut in the Stafford Motor Speedway (CT) Late Model division Friday with NASCAR Camping World East and Nationwide Series driver Charles Lewandoski behind the wheel of the #33 Late Model, crew chiefed by NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Brandon Knupp. The team hopes to run Lewandoski, a former regular in the LMs at Stafford, in another four or five events this season and also part-time in a second car during the 2010 season.
Leaty is Sub For Lia in Mystic Missile For Spencer Tour Race

Shawn Courchesne of the Hartford Courant has reported that NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour car owner Bob Garbarino will have Jan Leaty in his #4 Mystic Missile Modified on Saturday night at Holland Speedway (NY). Leaty will substitute for regular driver Donny Lia, who is missing the race to attend his sister's wedding.
Another Marlin to Test at Nashville Fairgrounds, Preps for Debut

Sutherlin Marlin, the 19 year old daughter of Sterling and Paula Marlin, will be testing at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville on Friday in anticipation for her Super Truck Series debut next weekend, July 18th.

Butler Brothers Return to ARCA in Andy Belmont Racing Entry

Andy Belmont Racing and LoanMax have reached an agreement to field the no. 1 LoanMax car for the remainder of the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series season.
Brothers' Brett and Ken Butler III will share the seat in the ABR LoanMax Ford starting with this Saturday's Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway where Brett is slated to drive. The LoanMax Ford will be powered by Roush-Yates motors.
Speed Eating a Banana Could Result in Victory at Anderson

This Friday night's racing lineup at Anderson Motor Speedway (SC) has one one very unique feature event on the schedule. The Banana Spectator Spectacular is where spectators may enter their personal vehicle (with a $10 entry fee per contestant) in the race. Preliminary races are run in pairs with the winner advancing to the next round. Drivers make the first lap, stop at the Finish Line, dash to the Infield Concession Stand where they grab and eat a banana. After returning to their respective cars from the “pit stop”, participants must make a second lap around the track. The winner is the driver who takes the checker flag first. A final winners-only race is held using the same rules.
